My scrappy blue Sportrak.....the story so far.

Arrived on the back of a trailer and we set to work taking bits off – roof came off nice and easily and we started to find the holes….

Sweeping out some mess – getting it cleaned out and ready for the work to start – getting the holes tidy and ready for filler.

Took the wing extensions off – and discovered that there wasn’t much under them…

Not much left of the front wings – no leading edges on either of them and not enough to work with

Nice red primer and rust proofing on the frame and rear bed – then a good few coats of bitumen based paint.

Old covered cardboard sides removed and used as templates for plastic replacements – covered with black vinyl – four heavy duty V rings bolted into the bed (first time using my new nut riveter)

One replacement extension purchased and all four sprayed the same colour – hammerite sprayed everywhere

Lots of rattle cans of black satin paint – wheel arch extensions attached with tech screws, then resprayed to match

Next phase is to take the engine apart, new seals, new belts and tensioner, filters all round, but – the biggest problem is the distributor cap as I still can’t find one to replace the Denso 029120-387

Then I’ll have to make a new exhaust at some point…
